September 9, 2014 (1 Cor 6:1-11)

“The more things change, the more they stay the same.” The Christians in Corinth seemed to like to bring legal suits against each other (we would say they were litigious). They would fit in with the 21st century. Paul saw this as an erosion of Christian values (after all, aren’t we supposed to love each other and work disagreements out?). The idea of mutual good was disappearing even then. We certainly see this played out in the news every day. Lord, help us to seek common ground and work toward mutual good.
