Today at mass, Paul reminds us that “we who were far off have been brought near through the blood of Christ.” The Jewish people were God’s chosen, people of the promises and covenant. Paul was now saying that the gentiles were chosen too and people of the promises and covenant.
Jesus’ sacrificial suffering and death has made all the difference. Today, let us say “thank you” to Jesus for all He does for us and pray for the courage to carry our crosses in following Him.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God.” Eph 2:8
