November 4, 2014 (Phil 2:10)

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” Why? Paul tells us: “He emptied Himself,” His will was to do the will of the One who sent Him (the Father). Paul tells us we need the same attitude.

When I was growing up, it was the custom (not necessarily to bend the knee) to bow the head when the name, “Jesus” was spoken. This custom seems to have gone away. It’s a shame. I’ve tried to revive it in my life (sometimes even I forget). I challenge all those who read my blog to revive this custom (or continue it if you are already doing it). Let’s set the example for others so they may ask “Why are you doing this” Then, we can say Phil 2:10!

  1. I too learned to bow my head whenever the name of Jesus is spoken. My problem is that I sometimes do
It without thinking and I want it to
Be A Conscious act of reverence for His holy name.
