Jan. 22, 2015 (Mk 3:7-12)

In the beginning of Mark’s gospel, Jesus spends a lot of time healing and preaching: there has been a man with an unclean spirit, Simon’s mother-in-law, a leper, a paralytic, and so forth. Now, He tries to get away for a rest and to pray, but the crowds won’t let Him. They want something. They are sick and suffering. So, they follow Him. Jesus responds to the multitude with compassion. God, give us the strength to respond to human need as Jesus did.
