Jan. 28, 2015 (Thomas Aquinas)

“Whoever seeks to live perfectly need only disdain what Christ disdained on the cross and desire what He desired. For the cross exemplifies every virtue.” St. Thomas Aquinas, Conferences on the Apostles’ Creed

The “Angelic Doctor,” St. Thomas Aquinas has got it right: it’s the cross, always the cross. We Christians begin our sojourn with the cross (we are signed with it at Baptism); we start every prayer with the Sign of the Cross. As much as we would like to ignore it, the cross should be at the center of our lives. We all bear the mark of Jesus. “If you seek an example of humility, look upon the Crucified one,” St. Thomas Aquinas.
