Feb. 14, 2015 (Gen. 3:9-24)

“The serpent tricked me into it, so I ate it.” If you are my age, you remember a comedian by the name of Flip Wilson. He had a character by the name of Geraldine who used to use as an excuse, “The devil made me do it!” Do you remember? Politicians and others just don’t want to take responsibility for their actions. People don’t make errors; they “misspoke.” Lies and rationalizations abound. I guess it’s human nature? Sin distorts us and keeps us from following what God wants us to do. Sin damages all relationships. Luckily, God’s mercy can triumph over sin, if we let Him be compassionate. Let us ask for the grace to confess our sins.
