March 11, 2015 (DT 4:1, 5-9)

Today’s First Reading at mass teaches us the love of God’s law. The Book of Deuteronomy is a retelling of the Sinai Covenant by Moses as a series of discourses. Thus, its titled “Second Law.” “Do not forget…” Moses told the people. Sometimes, we tend to forget, don’t we? It is easy to forget or ignore God’s law or even the blessings He brings into our lives. One of the reasons we celebrate mass is to keep the memory of Jesus alive. We can also keep the memory of Jesus alive by following His law of love and doing good to others. Let us pray today, “Fill our hearts, O Lord, with the love of Your law.”
