May 20, 2015 (Acts 20:28-38)

The First Reading picks up where yesterday’s reading left off. As he is bidding farewell, Paul quotes from Jesus, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” That quote doesn’t appear in the gospels anywhere. Paul goes on to speak of watchfulness and future troubles. The real question is can we take the love of God in our hearts and pour it out on those around us, especially the weak and vulnerable like the needy and poor?
