Sept. 21, 2015 (Feat of St. Matthew)

“I desire mercy not sacrifice. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.” We all need to develop a healthy sense of “sinfulness.” That doesn’t mean thinking everything is a sin and feeling guilty about anything and everything. It does mean recognizing that we all need God’s love and compassion (mercy) in our lives. Without that mercy, we are just incomplete as a person. Since God is forgiving to us, we should emulate Him and become more forgiving of others.
