33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time (2015)

“About that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” From the very start of Christianity , there have been those who have thought that the end of the world was near. It all started with predictions in the year 90, then 385, then 400 and so forth. Remember 2000 or 12-21-2012 when the Mayan calendar ran out? No one knows, but we can have hope that amidst all the chaos and ills of the world, a loving God is ultimately in charge. The goodness of Christ if far greater than the brutality we see on TV or the internet. We have hope because we know that the world’s ultimate destination is in the hands of a God of boundless mercy.

Ps. This is a milestone: my 1000th Blog! Thanks for reading.
