March 21, 2016 (Isa 42:1-7)

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of Holy Week our First Reading at mass is from one of the “Suffering Servant Songs” found in the Book of the Prophet Isaiah. Scholars debate who the writer intended as this servant: himself, Israel in captivity in Babylon, someone else? The early church saw them as referring to Jesus. Today we hear about the justice this person will bring. In our world, God uses us to bring justice to those oppressed. What are you doing to see that people have what they deserve?
