March 22, 2016 (Isa 50:4-9a)

In today’s First Reading from another of the “Suffering Servant Songs” we hear “See, the Lord is my help; who will prove me wrong.” Often, when we act in accord with Jesus’ teaching, we will be acting against the mainstream thoughts of the society in which we live. That society will try to put us down and make fun of us. It may seem that the easiest thing to do would be to just give in and stop doing what we’ve been doing. We may question whether we are actually doing right? That’s when we need to feel secure that the Lord is with us and we won’t be “proved wrong.”
