We celebrate two of the apostles, those stones upon which Jesus built His church: Philip and James. Philip was Greek speaking from Bethsaida and one of the first apostles called according to the Gospel of John. He would bring gentiles to Jesus. James was the son of Alphaeus called the “Less’ or the “Just” for his piety. These were eyewitnesses to Jesus and made His message known and understood by those who never saw or heard Jesus. We need to make Jesus known to our world just as they did.
