Prayer for Children who Have Left the Catholic Church

“Watchful Father, You gave me the responsibility to bring up my children in the Catholic faith, which has the fullness of Your Son’s teaching and the riches of His seven sacraments. I pray for my children and any person who has left the Church founded by Your Son, Jesus. May they return to the one true Church in which all are one in You. With Your Son’s death I unite my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings in preparation for any of my sins which may have led anyone away from You and Your Son’s Church. Through the merits of Your Son’s sacrifice on the cross, may they be brought back to Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
St. Joseph, pray for us.
St. Monica, pray for us.”

  1. I have known, and do know many good people who are not Catholic. In their efforts to live a holy life, God will surely bring them into an eternity of living with Him. What hurts me is the relatives and acquaintances that leave the practice of their Catholic faith for other churches. It is sad because they just don’t have the understanding, or knowledge of the richness and abundance of the graces Jesus provides them in the Church He established. It is sad too that we relatives and acquaintances have failed to convey that understanding to them.
Jesus, send us once again, your Holy Spirit, as in a new Pentecost. Let the flames that appeared on the first Pentecost, inflame our hearts and renew in us what moved those gathered in the upper room. With your Spirit within us, you can change the face of the earth.
