“Your Father who sees in secret will repay you.” We all like to get “Attaboys.” We hope our efforts will be acknowledged by others when the only one who matters is God Himself. In “A Man for all Seasons,” Richard Rich asks Thomas Moore for a position at court. Moore offers a teaching position (in obscurity). Rich refuses. “Who will know?” he asks. Moore tells him that his friends, his students and God will know. But, it wasn’t enough. Do you feel like Rich from time to time? You must have others accolades when it’s only God’s opinion of us that counts?
