July 16, 2016 (Micah 2:1-5)

Micah was a contemporary of Isaiah of Jerusalem. He was rustic, from the country, Isaiah was urban, from the city, Jerusalem. Some of Micah is exactly like Isaiah. In those cases, scholars believe that Micah borrowed from Isaiah. In today’s reading, Micah foretells the impending doom brought about by the lack of social justice. Lord, help us to be more aware of the consequences of our actions on others, especially those in dire need.
