Sep. 30, 2016 (Memorial of St. Jerome)

St. Jerome was a blunt and zealous defender of the faith. He was also one of the most learned men of his time. He translated the Bible into Latin, Vulgate, from the original languages. In the Dark Ages that made him one of the only men who could have done that. He said that ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ. He was also an ascetic and started a facility for homeless children, a hospital, a shelter for refugees, etc. Why not start to read the Bible every day if you are not doing so right now?
