29th Sunday of Ordinary Time (YR C, 2016)

“A spiritual life without prayer is like the Gospel without Christ,” Henri Nouwen.

If we are going to be people who love God, we have to develop a relationship with God. We need to know God by reading His Word, Sacred Scripture. To get to know Him, we also have to talk to Him, we have to pray. Prayer is effective. It can change and guide us. It can put us in touch with our Christian principles and give us strength to live out those principles. Our readings today call us to pay attention to the need to develop a sense of persistence in our prayer life.
