Nov. 9, 2016 (Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica)

This Basilica is the oldest cathedral and the seat of the Chair of the Bishop of Rome. Thus, it is the “Mother Church” of Roman Catholicism. It is the symbol of unity in the Church. That’s why we celebrate it even if the Feast falls on a Sunday! Yet, we know the real “Church” is not a building but the “People of God.” That’s you and me. We should never forget that.
