Feb. 10, 2017 (Memorial of St. Scholastica)

St. Scholastica was the twin sister of St. Benedict. They shared the same interests. Both started religious communities. Their monasteries were 5 miles apart. They visited each other once a year. St. Benedict felt he needed to be back to his monastery by night fall. The last time they met, St. Scholastica asked him to stay. He refused, so she prayed to God for a storm that wouldn’t let him leave. God sent the storm. She was dead three days later. They were buried together.
