Today used to be St. Valentine’s Day. The culture celebrates it as such. Valentine was a clergyman who refused to quit his faith under persecution. He was jailed and eventually martyred. His jailer’s daughter would bring him food and water. Before he died, he wrote to her thanking her for her kindness and letting her know that God would reward her acts of kindness. He signed the note: “Your Valentine.” (Hence, the start of the Valentine Day’s cards!)
