March 6, 2017 (Lev 19:1-2,11-18)

“Be holy, for I, the Lord, your God, am holy.” The Book of Leviticus is a collection of religious and moral laws. We hear today from what is called “The Holiness Code.” We hear commandments that are expected to be obeyed. Jesus has been telling us that obeying commandments are not enough. We need to do things like we hear in Matt. 25 (The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats). Have we fed the hungry; have we given drink to the thirsty, etc.? If not, Lent is a good time to start.
