March 7, 2017 (Mt 6:7-15)

“In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words.” There are many ways to pray. You can pray by yourself or with others. You can read, sing, be silent, etc. Prayers can be memorized or spontaneous. There is meditative and contemplative prayer. Bottom line is there is no one way to pray. The trick is to “pray continually,”as Paul might say and to pick a time and special place for daily prayers. Too many people seem to be unable to give a part of the day to God in prayer. That is a shame as our relationship with God is based on our prayer life. That prayer life is the foundation for everything else.
