July 25, 2017 (Feast of St. James the Apostles)

Today we honor St. James, the brother of St. John, and with St. Peter, the inner circle of Jesus Apostles. He was the first to be martyred of all the Apostles. Today’s gospel is a strange instance of James and John wanting to be at Jesus’ right hand and left hand in the Kingdom. It is clear that he changed considerably post resurrection by his martyrdom. Any pride or boastfulness must have disappeared. He changed. We can change, too. The grace of the resurrection can change us. Let God’s grace enter your life.
