WK 26A (2017)

There is a tendency today to take responsibility away from the individual and blame others: one’s parents, one’s friends, the environment, etc. No one seems willing to accept responsibility for anything(witness our politicians). Maybe, it’s because people think of themselves as victims, so everything is out of their hands. Yet, unless we take responsibility for our actions, we’ll never see the need for God’s forgiveness. Quite frankly, if we never sin, who needs forgiveness; who needs God? On the other hand, if we do accept responsibility for our actions, then God’s mercy is always there for us. “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for His mercy endures forever.”
