Oct. 25, 2017 (Luke 12:39-48)

We are told that the shoes of an average baseball player lasts two months. The stick of an average hockey player lasts two games. The boots of a combat soldier lasts two months. Life spans of things can be fairly predictable. Not so much with the lifespans of humans. Today’s gospel reminds us how unpredictable life can be. How are we using our talents and time? “Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you do hold well.” Josh Billings
