Jan. 27, 2018 (Mark 4:35-41)

John Newton was a slave trader. His ship was in a violent storm, not unlike the one in today’s gospel. He prayed that if they made it safely, he would give up the slave trade. The storm stopped and he kept his word. He wrote a song that you may know. It begins: “Amazing grace that saved a wretch like me…” Jesus is there for us in the storms of our lives. Recall one of those times and give thanks to God.
