Feb. 6, 2018 (Paul Miki and Companions)

(Mark 7:1-13)

A Jewish Rabbi was in a Roman prison. The prisoners only got a small daily ration of water. The Rabbi used it for ritual washing of hands instead of drinking it and almost died of thirst! Sometimes the concern for external regulations overshadows concern for internal attitudes. Then, rituals become more important than things like love and pity. Lord, let our external acts of worship be a true reflection of our love and concern for others.
